Market Overview: Mortgage rates moved slightly higher today, with the 30-year fixed rising to 6.45%. Most loan types saw modest increases, reflecting mild upward pressure in bond yields. Despite the uptick, overall movement remains contained, suggesting lenders continue to price cautiously in a relatively stable market environment.
Rate Trends & Forecast:
Short-Term: Rates are likely to stay in a narrow range for the time being, with only slight changes expected unless significant new economic data emerges.
Long-Term: While there is potential for gradual improvement if inflation continues to moderate and long-term Treasury yields decline, meaningful rate decreases are unlikely without a major shift in the economic or policy outlook.
